Biography
Christoph Suttner was born on the 8th of November 1993 in Vienna. He started learning Drums in the music school Hollabrunn with the age of 8 and played during his school time in different Brass Bands and Jazz Combos. After High School Graduation in 2012 Christoph joined the Military Marching Band of Lower Austria for one year, where he prepared for his music studies.
Christoph studied Jazz/Pop-Drums at the Carinthian State Conservatory in Klagenfurt with Prof. Klemens Marktl from 2013 till 2019. During his drum studies he also delved into composition and began studies in jazz composition with Prof. Johannes Berauer and later Prof. Reinhold Pleschberger-Schmölzer. He finished his bachelor degree summa cum laude in October 2021. Currently Christoph is completing his master degree in jazz-composition with Prof. Reinhold Pleschberger-Schmölzer at the Gustav Mahler private university for music.
Christoph has a broad interest in diverse musical styles, playing in different kinds of ensembles (Rock Bands, Big Band, Jazz Combos, Cover- and Party Bands). He likes to write for a wide range of genres and instrumentations, from chamber music to Big Band.
